Thrust spherical roller bearings have a great capacity of bearing axial load, which can bear radial in a certain degree (no more than 55% of the axial load) when bearing axial load.

But they are not suitable for high speed rotating. With their raceway surface of washers a sphere surface, these bearings have self-aligning property, allowing axis to skew a little.

Lubricating grease is usually used.
